Mother of pearl adorned canes

Halfway, high cane with an 8cm gold handle knob, and ivory ferrule.

This wonderful cane is designed with flowers and large arabesque, as shown left and right.
Below: a part of a mother of pearl adorned cane, orned with flowers and foliage pattern. In the higher part of the design, a bird stay's on a stem.

The rosewood shaft is designed with mother of pearl. The light inlay suggest flowers, foliage, and butterflies In one of the design, a grasshopper rest upon a long leave.

Below, a cane of which the shaft is enterily covered with Burgaud mother-of-pearl mosaic. The pommel is made of greenstone jade. Burgaud is the vulgar name given in Sables-d'Olonne (Normandy France) to a big whelk shell. From it, is taken the famous mother of pearl, which is higly used for inlays, mostly by the japanese.
