A rareness that soon lasted
The sabre Cane appeared during the
revolutionary times, around 1790 and for a short period. It is a strong Cane,
that can be made of wood, of horn, of ray tail or other materials.
Its main characteristic stays in its curve,
recalling the sabre's shape; it is also a powerful bludgeon, that provides a
good defense to whom holds it in hands.
The sabre Cane appeared when wearing a sword
or a sabre had been forbidden by the revolutionary government. This was a way
of mockery for the benefit of the power who had forbidden any civilian to bear
the sword or the sabre. |
